Greta & Valdin

by Rebecca K Reilly

I love this book. It is all about character, and the characters are a unique, memorable, and adorable. The sibling protagonists, Greta and Valdin, are bright, obsessive, quirky, and mesmerising. They are the reason to keep reading as they question, avoid, fall in and out of love with, and live alongside their huge supporting cast. Set in New Zealand, the novel is filled with Russians, Maori, Catalonians, Irish, Brazilians and more, of various ages and sexual orientations. To be honest, sometimes I lost track of exactly who was who, but it didn’t matter because everyone is so likeable that I just wanted more of whatever they were doing.
