THE BLOB: A LOVE STORY

This short novel is an entertaining blend of whimsical fantasy and poignant human connection. The concept is both quirky and moving: protagonist Vi Liu finds a sentient blob and then moulds it into her ideal partner . At first, Bob the blob follows her every command, but as he becomes increasingly human, he starts to feel trapped, to want a life of his own, and inevitably, Vi’s plan to create her perfect boyfriend goes off the rails. Su’s confident, lively writing explores themes of love, identity, and transformation with humor and heart. The plot isn’t complex, but neither is Pygmalion, and it’s still a damn good story.
